It was recently announced that Flexware Innovation, owners of Acumence, a production business intelligence software, was acquired by Hitachi, Ltd. Scott Whitlock, Flexware Innovation’s President and CEO, issued a statement following the public announcement, “Our commitment to Acumence and its users is unchanged. We believe that customers will only benefit as we move forward with the enhanced resources of the global Hitachi team behind us.”
According to Hitachi, Flexware Innovation was a strategic acquisition due to Hitachi’s focus on the TOTAL SEAMLESS SOLUTION that links “shop floor” and “top floor” with data and digital technology. Similarly, Acumence taps into shop floor equipment and technology to provide top executives with real-time data to better run the business.
Steve Klabak, Acumence Product Manager, added, “Our existing customers will benefit from upcoming enhancements that will provide cross-plant reporting, increased administrative features when harmonizing data across plants, and enhancements that will support manual data entry and allow even more detailed views of production metrics and how they relate to contextual data throughout the plant.”
